West Coast Swing Dance Lessons Houston
A DESCRIPTION: The West Coast Swing consists of six and eight count patterns, which are done in a slot. In West Coast Swing the woman no longer rocks back as in East Coast Swing, but instead she walks forward on count one. West Coast Swing is usually done to medium tempo music, frequently slower than East Coast Swing. However, those who achieve a high skill level in West Coast Swing can and do dance it to faster tempo music. This dance has no bounce and a very smooth feel.
West Coast Swing is one of 8 country western dances regulated by the UCWDC (United Country Western Dance Council) who describes West Coast Swing as a smooth, stationary dance with slotted patterns and rhythm accents, emphasizing back-beat.
